Who we Are
Groundswell Grappling Concepts is a group of Brazilian jiu jitsu and submission grappling practitioners with the goal of using our experiences and expertise to make a positive difference in the lives of our fellow practitioners and their families and friends.
What we Do
The principal members of GGC are dedicated to self-improvement through BJJ, and we aspire to pay forward the lessons we have learned about leadership, personal responsibility, and integrity by offering camps and other training opportunities, publications, merchandise, and consulting services. We look forward to working with you in the future!
Our Mission & Vision

Groundswell Grappling Concepts (GGC) is a limited liability company dedicated to supporting self-actualization through Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ) and grappling. We believe the mental, physical, and psychological demands of BJJ and grappling, when properly channeled, have the power to transform lives. We provide products and services aligned with this belief, and with the expectation that personal fulfillment contributes to societal improvement.
By 2015, GGC intends to be serving over a thousand men, women, and children, providing 1) instruction, community, and other services in Brazilian jiu jitsu and grappling; 2) related products and merchandise including but not limited to clothing, grappling gear, and instructional videos; and 3) consulting resources to others who are dedicated to supporting self-actualization through Brazilian jiu jitsu and grappling.
Meet the Team

Hannette Staack
“To instruct effectively, it is necessary to reach wisdom through the mind. To transform successfully, it is essential to follow love through the heart. Teaching, though, is not enough. It is imperative that we ourselves become living lessons.” Emmanuel, via Chico Xavier
Testimonials

Nora Schoenthal
“Best grappling experience ever. Being part of the female grappling community and having a safe and supportive environment to train changed the way I approach my own training!”

Bianca Wilmott
“I started jiu jitsu for self-defense and to feel more confident. Despite my lack of experience, I felt really welcome at this camp. Everyone really showed me a lot of willingness to help. I would encourage anyone to come to this camp. These women are amazing”
